  • Neil heads up the DCS Audit team and has extensive experience of different types of audits both UK and overseas, including Regulatory, Claims and Underwriting
  • The Directors of DCS recently orchestrated a 9-month audit project assisting London Market Insurers in the defence of a multi-million pound High Court Action relating to Auditor's negligence.
  • Recently concluded by mediation the settlement of a £7,000,000 multi-party Engineering dispute in Scotland, acting as lead underwriter on behalf of conflicted market insurers.
  • Represented Primary and Excess Layer insurers in a mediation in Australia on a Surveyor's negligence claim. The amount claimed was made in excess of AU$30,000,000 but a successful settlement was achieved at AU$3,000,000.
  • Neil passed his Business Spanish Language Exam (level 1) with distinction.

Relevant Experience/Expertise

  • Over 15 years’ experience in both UK and international Professional Liability claims handling from both a broking and underwriting perspective.
  • Has been a Director of DCS for over 10 years, with specific responsibility for the Operational & Financial elements of the business.
  • Extensive Auditing and Risk Assessment experience on a UK and international basis, including reviews of a leading Israeli insurance agent based in Tel Aviv; France's largest Engineering scheme based in Marseilles; Scandinavia's second largest insurer (in both London & Copenhagen); Hong Kong's largest independent insurance broker and a leading Canadian MGA.
  • Over 7 years’ experience in handling general liability claims with specific emphasis on Personal Injury and Product Liability.
  • Particular experience & knowledge regarding the IFA industry following the industry wide pensions and endowment reviews.
  • 3 years experience as London Market Claims Manager for a national underwriting operation, having responsibility for administration of Professional Indemnity claims on a regional basis.
  • Experience in handling major insurance claims through to trial including landmark cases such as Layher vs Lowe and Rothschild vs Collyear.
