• Involved in the management and underwriting of the largest Surveying firm in Europe, with close liaison with the senior management and Chairman.
• Closely involved in the negotiation and settlement of various claims under the Lloyd's Members and Managing Agents litigation leading to the Lloyd's R&R agreement in 1993
• Recently involved in concluding a £8,000,000 market-wide litigation involving large UK contractor against an engineering firm in a high profile leisure contract in the Northeast of England. Satisfactorily removed our clients for £975,000.
• Chairman of the Professional Indemnity Claims Forum - an informal meeting that takes place on alternate months involving claims managers and directors from most leading syndicates and companies writing Professional Liability business. The main purpose being to discuss issues of significance to the liability insurance market as well as building relations between insurer's, many of who participate on the same risks.

Relevant Experience/Expertise

• Over 22 years’ experience in International Professional Indemnity claims handling, both on the broking and underwriting side.
• Over 9 years’ experience in handling primary and excess layer solicitors claims prior to creation of the Solicitors Mutual and 2 years immediately post Mutual on a re-insurance basis.
• Management of large Australasian Professional Indemnity and D&O portfolio, including Resource Underwriting Pacific Pty Ltd.
• Extensive involvement in the creation of various insurance schemes including The Council for Licensed Conveyancers, The British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing and the creation of Survis Ltd (the successor to the RICS Insurance scheme). Involvement included the drafting of policy wordings, general underwriting and claims management.
• Set up specialist Professional Indemnity claims administration company, DCS Ltd, handling all classes of Professional Liability, D&O and Financial Institution claims on a delegated basis on behalf of various Lloyd’s and company insurers.
• Extensive knowledge of insurance Law firms with an excellent working relationship with the majority of Commercial Litigation firms specialising in Professional Indemnity.
