Relevant Experience/Expertise

  • Michael has over 10 years experience handling UK liability claims in the company market. This includes EL, PL, Products Liability and some Property damage claims.
  • This experience includes handling both direct and reinsurance claims on both a national and international basis.
  • Michael also has good understanding of Excess Liability losses within the Energy & Marine market.
  • Whilst at Capita, Michael was heavily involved with ATE legal expenses business. Michael was involved in both the 'vetting' process (ensuring prospective claims had a greater than 50% chance of success) and ensuring generally that the panel firms were adhering to their Solicitors Management Agreements.
  • Michael has been involved in audit work across the UK which includes the claims and underwriting processes of other service providers, including; loss adjusters, underwriting agencies and insurance companies.
  • Solid understanding of the application and working practices within the After The Event (ATE) Insurance market.
  • Michael was seconded to DCS’ Asia Pacific office in Sydney where he spent several months gaining knowledge of liability claims within the Australian market.
