The Energy and Marine Division is headed up by Dan Cooper. The Division itself boasts 20 years of insurance experience, 14 of those dealing with the Energy and Marine Industry. The Division consists of 7 claims handlers and support team whose combined experience allows for all levels of claim to be dealt with in an efficient, thorough and concise manner.

The Energy and Marine Division are able to provide a proactive claims administration service to both the 100% and subscription markets, in both a lead and follow market capacity. The team deals with both primary and excess layer Insured’s, who range from small to medium size companies to multi-national oil companies. Accordingly, the Division deals with claims that circumvent the globe, which means that the Division deal with local markets anywhere in the world.

The Division deals with both onshore and offshore energy claims. These claims can range from the small to the catastrophic with experience in dealing with claims arising out of hurricanes, explosions and mining accidents, to pipeline losses and control of well incidents. The marine claims vary from hull & machinery to cargo and sue & labour claims.

Any claim that is notified to DCS is dealt with in a proactive manner whether or not DCS represent the lead underwriter or a participant in a follow market. Clients are able to view every development on every claim in ‘real time’ through DCS’ bespoke claims system, C~View and also benefit from a fully bespoke management information service.
