DCS Valued has been developed by DCS to provide a bespoke claims solution to administer claims made by Lenders against Valuers. We believe that it is a unique product in the market. It provides for the defence and ultimate resolution of claims made by Lenders against Valuers, but also provides Insurers with access to software to gather valuable statistical information and build a comprehensive database of claims against Valuers.

The database provides for the early detection of potential mortgage fraud and the ability to deal with it accordingly. The software utilised has been developed by Counsel, namely Luke Wygas of 4 Pump Court in conjunction with DCS Ltd and Gordon Walker of DCS Consultancy. The software also allows insurers, to assess the potential quantum at an early stage of any claim made against the Valuer and to constantly update the potential quantum of a claim when further information, such as any contributory negligence issues become apparent. This enables insurers to have a realistic assessment of quantum based on the information known at any given time.

All claims under £100,000, (save for multiple or fraudulent claims) are dealt with exclusively by experienced claims handlers without the need for Panel Solicitor instruction, thus achieving significant cost savings. In view of the location of DCS Consultancy at DCS’ offices, the access to solicitor input (at no charge to insurers) where required by the claims handler is unencumbered.

Those claims that are significant (we have determined claims with a potential of over £100,000 as significant) or involve multiple or fraudulent claims can also be dealt with under the DCS Valued scheme. For such cases, claims can be passed to DCS Consultancy. Such instruction will be given with Insurer’s prior consent. Whilst it is of course open for Insurers to utilise the services of other firms of solicitors on complex or high value cases, they will not have access to the DCS Valued database.

Further, DCS Valued provides access to expert services from Countrywide Surveyors. Countrywide Surveyors is one of Europe's premier surveying and valuation practices. It is the largest residential survey business in the U.K. and operates from 129 locations within the UK, employing over 800 Surveyors and Valuers in the UK. DCS Valued has secured specialist rates with Countrywide Surveyors to provide expert surveying services, whether this be on a straightforward desktop valuation or a formal CPR Part 35 compliant expert report.

We consider that the use of this software together with the skill and expertise of personnel working within DCS Valued provides Insurers with an unrivalled mechanism to deal with claims against Valuers.
